Yashasvi Jaiswal’s story is one true example of ‘rags to riches’ type of stories.
He lost his father at a young age. Jaiswal left his home in Uttar Pradesh to pursue his cricket dreams in Mumbai however his initial days were a big struggle. He had to live in a tent near the Azad Maidan Cricket ground and sold pani puri to make money for a living.
Despite all the challenges, he continued to work hard. All his years of hard work paid off when he was picked by Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League for a whopping amount of 2.4 Crores. Today, Yashasvi Jaiswal is the Third Youngest double centurion for India in their test cricket history (22 years 37 days) after scoring a brilliant 200 of 231 balls vs England in the 2024 Test Series.


Nicholas Pooran
At the age of 19, West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran suffered a horrible car accident which resulted in both his legs being fractured. Doctors told him that he will not be able to play cricket ever again. He needed 7 months to just walk again.
However, he didn’t give up. After his recovery, he trained very hard on his fitness and batting. After more than 2 years, he was back on the cricket field again. Pooran is now regarded as one of the most explosive batters in the history of West Indies cricket and plays a vital role in their batting line-up.
Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan hails from the country of Afghanistan, a war-torn country and a country that faced crisis in the past and still continues to face several crisis. Rashid Khan faced several political and financial barriers in his journey. When he was young, he used to practice for hours in an old and dusty stadium without any proper cricket equipment and technology to practice with.
Despite all odds, he continued his journey in cricket and his hard work paid off when he was selected for the Afghanistan national side. Today, Rashid Khan becomes the first Afghanistan captain to lead them to the Semi Finals and is regarded as one of the greatest T20 bowlers of all time.


Mithali Raj
Mithali Raj is a former Indian cricketer and one of the greatest female cricketers in the world. Born on December 3, 1982, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, she made her debut for the Indian women’s cricket team in 1999 at the age of 16. Mithali is known for her exceptional batting skills and became the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket. She served as the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team in both Tests and ODIs for many years and led India to the finals of the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Throughout her career, Mithali has set numerous records, including being the first woman to complete 7,000 runs in women’s One Day Internationals. She retired from international cricket in June 2022, leaving behind a legacy as a trailblazer and role model for aspiring cricketers.
